New exhibition at Goethe-Institut takes inspiration from sights and sounds of West Cork
The sights and sounds of West Cork’s Roaringwater Bay and its surroundings have served as the inspiration for ‘Composing Landscapes’, a new multimedia art exhibition, which features the work of four international artists and will run at the Goethe-Institut Irland from 8th May to 8th June 2024.
Presented jointly by the Goethe-Institut Irland and the Crespo Foundation, the exhibition is the second instalment of ‘The Glenkeen Variations’, a series of art exhibitions at the Goethe-Institut, which showcases the work of ten international artists who have participated in the Glenkeen Garden Residencies, an artist-in-residence programme in West Cork.
Admission to ‘Composing Landscapes’ is free. The exhibition at the Goethe-Institut will be accompanied by artist presentations and a panel discussion, which will take place at the UCC’s Glucksman in Cork on 10th May 2024. On 11th May 2024, the artists will offer a series of workshops and talks at the Working Artist Studios in Ballydehob, inviting participants to delve into the artists’ creative processes and research.
