After a resounding success with its inaugural event, The Depot Sessions at The Complex are set to return on October 17th, 2024. Described by Totally Dublin as “one of the most stimulating venues in the city,” The Complex will once again open its doors to music enthusiasts for a night that promises to be even more electrifying than the first.

The first edition of The Depot Sessions, held earlier this year, left audiences buzzing with excitement. According to The Goo magazine, the event was a “brilliant showcase of great new Irish music,” with standout performances by acts Wine Mom, Fizzy Orange, SexyTadhg, Cruel Sister, Squarehead, and Really Good Time. The reviews praised the diverse lineup, noting the range from “energetic and slow-paced emotional songs” to “groovy, exploding rock tunes,” making it clear that The Depot Sessions has quickly become a must attend event for Dublin’s music scene.

Building on this success the second edition will feature performances by three of Ireland’s most talked-about bands: BIG LOVE, CABL, and CHERYM.

BIG LOVE has been making waves in the Irish music scene with their intense alternative rock sound. Since their debut single, ‘Lily,’ dropped in 2021, they’ve earned a reputation for delivering high-energy live shows that are both emotionally charged and musically intricate. Their latest release, ‘Is It Over Yet,’ has solidified their status as a band on the rise, earning them spots at major festivals and critical acclaim.

CABL (pronounced Cable) offers a unique blend of shoegaze, pop, emo, nu metal, and folk, drawing comparisons to bands like Just Mustard and Big Thief. Known for their introspective lyrics and carefully orchestrated noise, CABL has quickly become a favourite on the live circuit, with sold-out headline shows and support slots for some of the most exciting acts in the country.

The Indie-Punk outfit that is CHERYM, are among the new school of queer rockers that have taken the world by storm. Starting out as a kick-back against the local music scene boys club, their relentless enthusiasm and boundless energy encapsulates who they are as people, and as a ferocious live act. As well as storming across the UK and Europe as their own headline act, CHERYM have also previously supported Nova Twins, Enter Shikari, The Beths, Sleeping with Sirens, and Bob Vylan, to name a few, as well as performing at festivals like 2000 Trees, The Great Escape, SXSW, and Truck Festival, and due to play Sziget Festival, Greenbelt Festival, and open the main stage at 2000 Trees. The band’s authenticity shines through in their music as they look within themselves for inspiration, only to realise what they have experienced, so many of their fans and peers have experienced as well, resonating so powerfully with their music. Fans of Blink-182, Dream Wife, or Bikini Kill will instantly fall in love with Cherym’s sound.

Tickets for The Depot Sessions are priced at €15 + fees and are expected to sell out quickly, given the buzz around the lineup. Don’t miss your chance to experience some of the best live music Dublin has to offer at what promises to be another unforgettable night at The Complex
