Enjoy the dress rehearsal of Grania, the Abbey Theatre’s upcoming production, for Culture Night Dublin 2024. Be part of history and witness some of Ireland’s foremost theatre-makers at work as this ground-breaking play is performed at the National Theatre of Ireland for the first time ever.
Grania was written in 1912 by the Abbey’s co-founder Lady Gregory. This exciting new production is directed by the Abbey’s Theatre Artistic Director, Caitríona McLaughlin.
Grania is based on the Irish legend of Gráinne, Diarmuid and Fionn. A story of love, lust, power and desire, friends are pitted against each other while one woman creates her own destiny, laying bare the tension between duty and passion.
