Virgin Media Are About To Open A FREE Giant Playhouse For Adults

Embrace your playful side this summer as Virgin Media announces an exciting FREE Dublin event – the unveiling of a two-storey playhouse exclusively for adults at the Science Gallery Dublin. This free public event, part of Virgin Media’s ‘It’s Playtime’ campaign, will run for only two days on July 5th and 6th and promises to reignite the joy of play.

Part playground, part science experiment, it’s custom-built to help you understand the state of mind that is “play”. Play is more than just fun and different personality types experience play in a range of different ways. While we often associate play with our childhoods, it has been proven that play is highly beneficial for adults and something we should be doing every day. Play is not just for kids as this event aims to remind adults how play is proven to foster creativity, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being.

Celebrate Play with Life-Size Fun

Featuring VR experiences, retro gaming, football simulators and movie shorts, among other games and challenges, all have been carefully designed to help you discover your unique ‘play personality’, from ‘The Creator’ to ‘The Competitor’.

Speaking about the importance of not giving up your playtime as an adult, Virgin Media Ireland brand ambassador James Kavanagh says:

“I firmly believe that play is a crucial part of our lives, regardless of age. Just because we grow older doesn’t mean we should give up on playtime. It’s essential for our mental health, creativity, and overall happiness. Personally, I incorporate play into my daily life in many ways. Whether that is through cooking adventurous meals, spontaneous trips with friends, or fun hobbies that spark joy like scrapbooking. I am beyond thrilled about Virgin Media’s upcoming free playhouse event. It’s a fantastic opportunity for adults to rediscover their playful side, and I can’t wait to join in the fun and see everyone there!”

Games Galore: What to Expect

Visitors to the playhouse can expect a diverse array of games, each designed to bring out the playful side and help people to discover their play personality.

From interactive digital games to physical challenges, there is something for everyone. Some example game options at this free event will include:

Retro Games: Step into the world of classic retro arcade games like Pac-Man and Mario, where nostalgia meets timeless fun. Guests will also have the opportunity to engage in epic battles of wit and strategy with giant Jenga and giant digital 4 In a Row. But beyond competition lies exploration, as each game offers new depths to uncover, and new strategies to master.

Dance Dance Revolution: The Retro Arcade Dance Machine merges kinaesthetic immersion with fierce competition. In head-to-head battles, agility and precision are key as competitors vie for victory.  It’s a dynamic fusion of physicality and rivalry, making every session an electrifying dance-off.

Football Simulator: A thrilling amalgamation of competition and physical immersion. Test out your football skills with the game’s points challenge. Scores will be tracked on the live-in-game leaderboard where our biggest competitors are sure to keep coming back to secure their spot. It’s more than just a game… It’s an immersive journey where the rush of competition meets the visceral sensation of play
