The long-awaited Culture Night 2016 is upon us this week, one of the most action packed nights of the year! This year’s Culture Night is particularly full of activities for all ages, so we have put together a list of our favourite events that we are definitely not going to miss the year! 

National Leprechaun Museum
National Leprechaun Museum presents 3 different storytelling experiences (over 16s), focusing on different areas of Irish folklore and mythology.  The event will run between 6pm and 10pm.

Brooks Hotel
Brooks is celebrating Culture Night by offering guests an Irish literary experience for those who enjoy Irish culture. Actor Jim Roche will be entertainign us with readings from Plunkett, Pearse, Yeats and many more Irish authors in the Cafe Lounge. Booking is essential: email marketing@brookshotel.ie.

Dublin Castle
To celebrate this special centenary year, Dublin Castle will be transformed for Culture Night, filling its historic walls with music, theatre and words. Visitors of all ages can explore staggering open-air concert and myriad of workshops, talks and readings dotted throughout the majestic building and its surrounds including Dubh Linn Gardens and the Chester Beatty Library. The night will run from 5pm until 10pm.

James Joyce Centre
Head down to the James Joyce Centre, located in the beautiful restored Georgian townhouse, for an evening of tours and exhibitions. Go for a free Joycean walking tour in the area between 5pm and 9pm, then join the in house tours, where you will learn more about Irelands leading and most influential writers.

Dublin City Hall
Dublin City Hall, a magnificent example of the Georgian architecture for which Dublin is world renowned, opens its doors once again on Culture Night 2016 with a host of musical performances to welcome visitors. Open from 5pm until 10pm.

Irish Whiskey Museum
If you are a fan of Irish Whiskey, and interested in it’s long and fascinating history, head down to the Irish Whiskey Museum. Tours of the museum full of informations on whiskeys origins in Ireland, it’s rise in popularity and fall, and it’s modern day revival, the tour will finish with a whiskey tasting in their lovely Tasting  Bar. Tours are an hour long and run from 6pm – 9:30pm,  starting every thirty minutes.

Gormleys Fine Art
If art is what you fancy, head down to one of Ireland’s leading galleries, who specialise in painting and sculpture. The exhibition will consist of a nice mix of emerging young, and established artists. The night will also hold art demos, and workshops for kids! The exhibition kicks off at 5pm and ends at 8pm.

An Post – GPO
The GPO will come alive with an evening of music and song. Send a Culture Night postcard, postage paid courtesy of An Post, to loved ones at home and abroad. Take part in the An Post Children’s Quiz and be in with a chance to win a One4All gift card. It’s all kicking off at 5:30 and runs until 9pm.
