As the depressing weather settled back in to Dublin yesterday, the DublinTown team decided to cheer ourselves up with a lunch treat at the new restaurant on Lower Liffey Street, The Woollen Mills. It’s perfectly situated across the Ha’penny Bridge for anyone wandering about Temple Bar with no plans on where to eat, or if you’ve just finished up shopping on Henry Street. We had to wait a few minutes for a table, which turned out to be a very accurate sign for how good the food was going to be!
On arrival, everyone working there greeted us so warmly and we instantly relaxed into the buzzy vibe of Dublin’s newest eatery.
The restaurant has a modern industrial feel to it, with hanging Edison lights and long bench tables with stainless steel detailing. To your left when you walk in is a cute little cafe with freshly made cakes and breads, that make you question whether or not you should just buy a few artisan rolls instead of having a real meal. But don’t do it, the food is too good to miss!
We wanted to order one of everything on the menu, but eventually decided between us on the sweet potato and quinoa burger, a curry turnip soup and a turkey, peppers, guacamole and tortilla sambo (Yes! Crisps in our sambo) all deliciously topped with a crispy ciabatta.
To say the food was good is an understatement. Everything we had was so tasty, and a major bonus was that it was all so healthy!
If you’re looking for great food, a vibrant atmosphere and reasonably priced food in Dublin Town, The Woollen Mills ticks all these boxes.
