Summer Holiday Essentials
- Wed, 13 Jul 2016
Whether you are heading on a party holiday to the sunny island of Ibiza or jetting off on a relaxing getaway to the south of France, the list of summer holiday essentials is always pretty much the same. We’ve made your holiday packing a little bit easier by compiling this list of things that you need in your suitcase.
Sunscreen
If you are heading somewhere sunny this season a high factor sunscreen is a must have. Our pale Irish skin is not used to sunnier climates so it is very important to protect our skin against harmful rays. La Roche Posay have an excellent factor 50 cream ideal for face coverage.
Try the Nivea Sun Protect Spray in factor 30 or factor 50 for full body coverage. Both brands are available in Boots where they are currently running a buy one get one half price deal on selected sun protection products.
Sun Hat
Leaving the top of your head exposed to sunshine means that sunburn is inevitable. It is so easy to forget to protect this part of the body which is why a good sun hat is a summer holiday essential. Sun hats give us the shade needed in order to sit comfortably out in the sun.
Penneys have some great styles in stock at the moment and for a very reasonable price.
Beach Bag
If you are heading on a sun holiday this season a good sized beach bag is essential. Whether you are off to the beach for the day or off to explore the local village, throw your towel, shades, phone and purse into your beach bag and your packed for the day.
H&M have a great selection in stock at the moment.
A Good Book
For most of us, holidays are about relaxing and unwinding. There is no better way to chill out than getting stuck into a good book.
Have a look around Easons or Dubray Books and pick a couple that catch your fancy.
Travel Sized Toiletries
Most pharmacies are now stocking a great selection of travel sized toiletries which will save room in your case while helping you to comply with airline regulations. Lighten your load and pick up travel sized dry shampoo and deodorant or even invest in a portable razor or toothbrush.
Luggage
If you need to replace your luggage this season there is great value on hard shell and lightweight cases in Dunnes Stores. If it is a more adventurous holiday you are embarking on such as inter railing, then invest in a good quality rucksack that can be found in stores such as The Great Outdoors.
Adapter
There is no point in packing phones, hair dryers and laptops without packing the right adapter. Adapters can be the easiest thing to forget when it comes to packing. Do your research before your holiday and make sure you have the correct adapter for your destination country.
Invest in a multi-pin adapter that works in many different countries, these adapters can be found in most electrical appliance stores such as PC World in the Jervis Centre.
After all that packing, go enjoy your holiday! Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more updates on all things #DublinTown.
