Danish retailer Søstrene Grene received a warm welcome following their newest location in an iconic premises on George’s Street, opening doors to their largest Irish store earlier in August 2018.
Søstrene Grene, which translates to The Sisters Grene, (Grene being the family name of the founders) is a Scandinavian design home store founded in 1973 and sells everything from accessories, kitchenware and gifts, to stationery, interior furnishings and much more. The double-fronted prime city centre site marks the company’s sixth Irish location, having only launched in Ireland two years ago.
Cute character-stamped dishes, which are priced at a mere €2.66, are dotted around the delph area, with matching teddies, childrens accessories and more.
They use minimal packaging as they like the idea of their customers getting a sense and feel of their products by getting to hold and touch them in-store. They direct their patrons round the shop in a sort of loop, ensuring all products and prices are visible clearly and without strain.
Their target customer would be one who loves Hygge living, as well as those with a taste for budget Scandinavian design products. If this strikes your fancy, be sure to pop into their swanky new spot at 69-70 South Great George’s Street, open Mon-Fri 10am-7pm, Sat 10am-6pm and Sun 12pm-6pm.
