Peruke & Periwig Lunch Review #LunchAtPeruke
- Mon, 22 Jun 2015
Peruke & Periwig is an intimate, multi-story restaurant on Dawson Street that provides a unique dining experience in a warm space that feels as if you’ve stepped into old-time Dublin.
You may choose to have a drink in the ground floor bar area, or head upstairs to enjoy a full meal in one of the cozy dining rooms with walls and floors covered in red velvet, dark brown wood, and gold accents. You’ll truly feel like you’re dining in the company of royalty with portraits of kings and queens of the past lining the walls.
While the lunch menu generally consisted of typical lunch offerings like a chicken club sandwich or beef burger, the fresh ingredients and well-crafted dishes keep you satisfied and wanting to come back to try something new. The special of the day did not disappoint–a pulled pork sandwich gave a bit of a twist to what was otherwise a traditional lunch menu.
A short but sweet menu selection is contrasted by the extensive cocktail list, which is a passport-style booklet designed to take you ”Around the world in 80 cocktails” #PP80Cocktails. The cocktail options are modeled after traditional drinks, each with a unique, subtle twist on their classic counterparts. If you prefer the original, that’s okay–you can order any drink in it’s standard form. But with options like ‘Key Lime Pie’ and ‘Mad Hatter’s Tea Party’, who would want to?
Whether you’re looking to have a full meal for brunch, lunch, or dinner, or just stop in for some drinks anytime of the day, Peruke & Periwig is sure to have something to suit your needs.
