Milano Launches Autumn Menu Featuring Dun Laoghaire Pizzaiolo’s brand new creation

Local Pizzaiolo Bruno Rech has put Dun Laoghaire on the culinary map by winning iconic pizzeria brand, Milano’s, first Pizza Championships. Now, his award-winning pizza, aptly named the ‘Bruno,’ is taking pride of place on the Milano’s new Autumn menu which launches today.
Bruno, a Senior Pizzaiolo at Milano’s Dun Laoghaire restaurant, earned the prestigious title with his expertly crafted pizza, featuring creamy blue cheese, red onion chutney, tomato and mozzarella, all topped with fresh rocket, Parma ham and finished off with Gran Milano cheese.
Inspired by cherished family moments, Bruno’s pizza reflects his dedication to quality ingredients and passion for flavours that resonate personally, and the pizza captures the warmth and joy of shared meals with loved ones that he experienced growing up.
Bruno said, “I wanted to craft a pizza that not only tastes incredible but also evokes a sense of togetherness. Great food has the power to bring people closer, and I hope this pizza helps bring others together to create more memorable moments at Milano.”
In addition to Bruno’s pizza, Milano’s autumn menu introduces a variety of seasonal dishes, and from innovative starters which bring together iconic menu items for the first time to indulgent desserts, and an exciting new gluten free offering, there’s something for everyone.
- Mozzarella Sticks: Melting mozzarella coated in crisp, golden breadcrumbs, served with a tangy Italian tomato dip and a drizzle of sweet hot honey.#
- American Hot Dough Balls: loaded with rich Italian tomato sauce and paprika-spiced sausage, topped with hot green peppers and flavourful Gran Milano cheese – a taste explosion that brings two of the brand’s most popular menu items together for the very first time.
- Anchovy Bruschetta: Inspired by Milano’s founder’s love of anchovies, this starter features golden dough with lashings of garlic butter, topped with fresh tomato, capers, red onion, parsley and anchovies.
- Caprese Salad: An Italian classic of creamy mozzarella, vine tomatoes, plenty of basil and balsamic drizzle.
- Margherita Pomodoro Pesto: Elevating the classic Margherita to a whole new level with Italian passata, fresh mozzarella, baby plum tomatoes, basil and pine kernel pesto, topped with fresh basil.
- Meatball Italiano: A delicious combination of sumptuous beef meatballs, spicy beef, tomato, garlic, mozzarella and red onion, finished with a dash of chilli oil and Gran Milano cheese on a crispy Romana base.

The innovations don’t stop there: with a commitment to making its menu as inclusive as possible, Milano will be welcoming a gluten free Romana base to its menu – marking the first time the brand’s famous crispy Romana Is available in a gluten free version.
