Milano Dawson Street Reopens With Exclusive Allie Sherlock Performance
- Fri, 7 Jun 2024
Following a recent remodel, Milano Dawson Street celebrated its brand-new look with an exclusive live performance from renowned Irish singer-songwriter Allie Sherlock, who rose to fame through her busking days on Grafton Street.
On Thursday 6th June, Allie Sherlock performed for diners at the city centre pizzeria as part of the re-opening celebrations for Milano Dawson Street, known for being the home of birthdays, anniversaries, catch ups with family or friends, and everything in-between for the past 30 years.
Nestled in the heart of Dublin, the Dawson Street pizzeria was Ireland’s first Milano, and has been a favourite among locals and visitors alike since it opened nearly 30 years ago.
Andrew Harrison, Head of Ireland for Milano, said, “Live music is such a huge part of Ireland’s heritage, and as the original Milano, we wanted to celebrate Dawson Street being part of the cultural tapestry of Dublin’s city centre with this special performance from local talent Allie Sherlock. “
Customers will find a lot to love about the current menu, with legendary pizzas including the Romana American Hottest and a slice of heritage with the Soho ’65. In addition to iconic favourites and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, kids can enjoy the Piccolo menu, consisting of Dough Balls, pizza, pasta or salad, dessert and a Bambinoccino all for just €9.95.
Guests will also notice the restaurant’s new bright interior, which features intimate booths and natural lighting streaming through a beautiful new skylight. With the days getting longer and warmer, the restaurant’s outdoor seating with festoon lighting makes it the perfect atmospheric destination, whether it’s for a pre- or post-shopping meal, catch up with cocktails, or a pre-theatre pizza and Peroni.
Customers will be able to marvel at the restaurant’s unique artwork by Italian interior designer Enzo Apicella, who worked with Milano’s founder Peter Boizot to create some of the brand’s iconic aesthetics. Customers will also enjoy a touch of culinary theatre during their dining experience, as Pizzaiolos knead and flare dough right in front of their eyes before topping it off with their chosen fresh ingredients.
