What A Magical Night in DublinTown
- Fri, 14 Nov 2014
A magical night in DublinTown it was last night when Grafton Street had it’s Christmas lights switch on ceremony. And so many of us got to enjoy it.
The day started off pretty awful, but we were never going to let it stand in the way of our Christmas spirit. So we decided to embrace it, watch the moment when our marketing director went out and did a ‘go away rain dance’. And it worked!!!
Then all of a sudden the rain stopped, the skies cleared up, a rainbow emerged, the sun came out and we were on our merry way to Grafton Street.
Everything was beginning to feel very festive.
The crowd was getting bigger and bigger. And WOW how many people gathered around! Such an amazing turn out!
The Hallelujah Gospel Choir began the evenings events beautifully, really getting the crowd going.
The Love/Hate lads arrived for the festivities. Laurence Kinlan brought his adorable little boy with him for the event and Johnny Ward was there with his fellow cast members from Peter Pan.
The Original Rude Boys put on a brilliant show, such talented lads!
When the boys finished singing they were accompanied on stage by their good pal Laurence. Lisa Cannon was also on hand broadcasting live for Xpose, the cast from the Gaiety Christmas Panto, Peter Pan, Dublin Town CEO Richerd Guiney, 98fm’s Damien McCall… all like one big happy family! With a countdown from 10, it was time to press the big red button! There was huge cheer from the crowd and the Christmas Lights were finally on!
The whole crowd stopped to capture this magical moment, and we captured them!
Don’t miss the action taking place this Sunday on Henry Street, where the famous Arnotts Santa arrives in his horse draw carriage at 1:30pm and later at 4pm the Christmas Light switch on will take place with a great family show!
The Original Rude Boys Will be Back!
