Ladurée – a Little Taste of Paris in Dublin
- Fri, 14 Oct 2016
We popped in to the beautiful French café Ladurée on South William Street to find out a little more about their incredible history, and of course the delicious background behind the Macaroon!
Ladurée is the most renown French luxury bakery and sweet makers in the world, and they have definitely mastered their craft since being founded in 1862 in Paris by Louis-Ernest Ladurée. Ladurée’s grandson Pierre Desfontaines came up with their most famous treat the macaroon in 1930, by connecting two macaroon shells with their famous ganache filling.
These macaroons can be enjoyed in Dublin’s Ladurée in 14 incredible flavours. Macaroons are flown in to Ladurée from Paris fresh constantly, and their pastries and cakes are baked daily in the café so why not enjoy one of their insanely good croissants, or possibly a fruit tart.
Their macaroons are the perfect treat with your cuppa, or choose your own selection to make a great gift for, as they say at Ladurée ‘for someone you know too long’. Pop your selection into one of their traditional collectable boxes, or from one of their collaborations with the likes of Chiarra Ferragni, and Kerrie Hess.
If you want a bite of Paris pop into Ladurée for their special sit in Afternoon Tea, and for an extra treat add a glass of Champagne. Try their French Toast for brunch, or pick something from their savoury menu which consists of French favourites like their ham and cheese toastie, or one of their omelettes which are made with prime ingredients, made to perfection and with a modern twist.
We really enjoyed our visit to Ladurée, and meeting their fabulous staff! Pop in, and they will make you feel like you right at home (with a parisian twist!) #DineInDublin
