Get excited folks! The St Patrick’s Festival have announced it’s going to be Ireland’s biggest Festival yet!
With the theme “Ireland as you are,” the festival boasts an array of free events and activities that cannot be missed! We thought we’d bring some excitement and share a breakdown of the best events the stunning Festival Programme has on offer!
Kicking off the biggest Festival yet, is the free outdoor screening of Oscar nominated ‘America’ in the beautiful surrounds of Swords Castle on Thursday 16th March.
Next on our list is the Dublin Bay Prawn Festival which runs from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th March. With free entry, the seaside village will be hosting everything from live music, a fun fair, craft stalls, face paint for the kids, live music, to live cooking demos from local and celebrity chefs!
Saturday, the 18th of March is one for the kids! Get involved and join over 4,000 adventurers to explore the historical attractions of our capital for the annual Treasure Hunt.
The one you’ve been waiting for- Kicking off at 12 noon on the 17th of March, this year’s parade promises an homage to the creativity and heritage of our dear nation. Bursting with colour and pride, the ancient mythical tribes, faerie stories and trailblazing pirates will wind their way through the heart of our city!
Saving the best for last, Sunday the 19th of March will see Merrion Square glittered from head to toe! Merrion Square’s Festival Big Day Out, will be the host of a day long festival boasting a circus, aerial performances, street theatre, music, arts and crafts, Science Foundation Ireland Science Zone, a real-life mermaid… AND a 50FT giant whale!
Encouraging children to read, Dublin’s Citywide Reading Campaign has chosen the fictional Knights of the Borrowed Dark to open the door to a world of fantasy, sword fighting and monster making!
With music, colours and flavours for all, we weren’t joking when we told you to get excited!
