Located on the corner of Capel Street and Abbey Street, The Boar’s Head has become famous in recent years because of its patronage by many of Ireland’s biggest sports stars. The All-Ireland champions, the Irish women’s hockey team, and British Open Champion Shane Lowry are just some familiar faces who have come to the pub to celebrate. Oftentimes you’ll see many a blue jersey spilling out from the pub onto Capel Street. Run today by husband and wife team Hugh & Ann Hourican, it is one of the few early houses left in Dublin city, this wondrous pub has operated at this location since the 1830’s.
