H&M Celebrates 10 Years in Ireland

The Dublin Fashion team were delighted to be at the celebrations for H&M’s 10th birthday in Ireland last Wednesday night as they hosted an exclusive party for key Irish press and stylists, along with bloggers and VIP’s including singer Janet Devlin, Glenda Gilson, Daniella Moyles and Irish model Rosanna Davison.

The event took place in the wonderful and scenic surroundings of Sophie’s rooftop bar in The Dean Hotel, Dublin. With panoramic views overlooking the city, the new venue was the perfect place to celebrate such a milestone. The new H&M Conscious Exclusive collection was on display for guests to preview before the launch of the collection this April.

H&M’s new Conscious Exclusive collection shows what can be done with more sustainable materials, using fabrics including hemp, organic linen and organic leather to create unique, stylish garments. The collection, worn exclusively by actress and humanitarian Olivia Wilde in the campaign, will be available in around 200 H&M stores worldwide on 16th April 2015, as well as online at hm.com.

The collection takes inspiration from around the globe, with a focus on the versatility of the dress. Their glamorous organic linen and silk sleeveless gown is printed with beautiful hand-drawn images of birds. A tribal inspired black cocktail dress made from Tencel and recycled wool is embellished with rows of recycled beads and a printed cocktail dress made from organic hemp, organic silk and organic cotton is inspired by Japanese ink.

Each piece in the collection is special, whether it’s the bomber jacket made from a Tencel jacquard, with threads intentionally left loose, or the organic silk tuxedo blazer that is slashed to the elbow to create a dramatic effect. The collection is already in high demand after being worn to various red carpet events by the face of the campaign Olivia Wilde, musician Solange Knowles and actress Jessica Chastain.

We can’t wait for the collections to arrive in to the South King Street and Dame Street stores in DublinTown and are excited to see their new pieces fly out of the stores. One particular favorite of ours was the Olivia Wilde inspired dress worn by H&M’s own Claire Wakeman on the night.
