Exclusive to Ireland, new fragrance brand Floral Street has launched in Arnotts Beauty Hall and our noses are tingling with excitement.
Last week, Arnotts Beauty Hall became the first international store to stock the new Floral Street fragrances, created by Michelle Feeney whose background in the beauty industry expands a few decades. The new brand only launched in November 2017 in London, but with its extensive research into natural ingredients and having an eco-friendly mindset, it’s already making waves and has also been nominated as Best Eco Friendly Brand in the The Sunday Times Style Awards 2018.
Floral Street explores eight different personalities, aimed at both men and women, with different traits to suit your mood. For lighter scents look to the likes of Wild Vanilla Orchid that combines Madagascar vanilla beans with blossom, cassis, citrus and just-plucked jasmine with bamboo and sandalwood, while London Poppy is made with Sicilian Lemon, Florida Orange and a salt-spray marine note.
And for more intense ingredients choose Ylang Ylang Espresso that brings together a rebellious aroma of red rose, ylang ylang and jasmine with a soothing cloud of just-brewed coffee, fresh cream and Sichuan pepper, or the Black Lotus fragrance that describes itself as “the classic English-Rose dressed in a black leather jacket” with its ingredients of centifolia rose, red peppercorn and saffron.
Each of the eight fragrances is designed by Florista and head perfumist Jérome Épinette to entice your mood whether it’s day or night. Floral Street is about ease, modernity and joy, and about beauty that doesn’t cost the Earth.
Each bottle also features a unique floral print created by leading London photographer, Matthew Donaldson, while the boxes in which all products come in are modern, utilitarian solution with an eco-edge. The box is both sustainable and compostable, made from pulp carton with an embossed lid and held together with a re-usable boldly-coloured band. What’s more, the box can be re-purposed to house keepsakes for jewellery or makeup, or as a seed tray for plants and herbs in the kitchen or garden. Genius!
You will find all of the fragrances at the new Arnotts counter in their ground floor Beauty Hall, where alongside the perfumes, the Floral Street range also includes travel size fragrances, a sample set, home diffusers, scented candles and notebooks, body wash and shower gel too!
Having first started her career in New York where she worked for Bumble and bumble, Feeney describes fate as then bringing her to the Estée Lauder Group following a decision between the two companies and given that her Bumble and bumble office literally burning to the ground. Spending the next 15 odd years at companies including Aramis, creating the cult Creme de la Mer cream, heading MAC Cosmetics where she developed a whole host of senior artists, professional teams and artist relations in over 40 countries, Feeney eventually moved back to England at age 40, got married and had her second baby.
She worked for St Tropez Fake Tan in the boom of when fake tanning ‘became a thing’, before taking a break from the industry. Although she thought she had retired, Feeney wanted something new, but something that would change her perspective on the beauty industry, and created Floral Street with its flagship store in Covent Garden, London.
