After a recent refurbishment, the North Side’s Kingfisher Restaurant is back and stronger than ever!
Not only is The Kingfisher famous for it’s fish and chips, the café also has an unbeatable reputation for breakfast in the City.

Aside from fantastic food and an electric atmosphere, the restaurant is proud to also hold some political significance, In 1916, just outside the front entrance to The Kingfisher, leader Commandant – General Patrick Pearse surrendered to Brigadier General William Lowe and his son as photographed below.
A family run business open since 1976, the newly refurbished restaurant is only recently returned after a close brush with a fire that threatened to destroy the entire building. In an ironic twist to the 1916 surrender which took place on The Kingfisher’s doorstep so many years ago, the restaurant refused to surrender and instead worked tirelessly to get back up and running as soon as possible. Located on Parnell Street just next door to Sinn Féin’s HQ, the north side gem is in a hub of true Dublin culture and history.
A North Side favourite, the restaurant also boasts a multi-lingual clientele drawing visitors from all over the world. With the friendliest of staff and a diverse group of customers, you can guarantee leaving The Kingfisher with your spirits lifted.
