Dublin Book Festival
- Wed, 22 Oct 2014
The Dublin Book Festival is one of Ireland’s most successful and vibrant book festivals, running since June 2005. The annual public Festival showcases, supports and develops Irish Publishing by programming, publicising and selling Irish published books, their authors, editors and contributors all in an entertaining, festive, friendly and accessible environment that reflects the creativity and personality of the Irish Publishing sector and its authors.
4 Days of Readings, Public Interviews, Debates, Book Launches, Workshops and More! Almost all events are free!
The Dublin Book Festival will run from 13 – 16 November 2014 in and around Smock Alley Theatre, Temple Bar as well as satellite venues around the city including, The Gutter Bookshop, The Irish Writers Centre, Fighting Words, Irish Georgian Society, Cooks Academy, National Library of Ireland and Dublin City Public Libraries.
The Dublin Book Festival has something for everyone and the vast majority of the events are free, making for a fun, affordable day out for all age groups. It is one of Dublin’s largest book festivals and celebrates Irish published authors and Irish publishing, across a whole range of genres, from comedy and literary fiction, business, cookery and children’s literature, to poetry and Irish language events.
“The Dublin Book Festival is about celebrating Irish publishing and its authors. We are passionate about nurturing and supporting new and emerging authors, as well as bringing household names to our audience. What makes us different from other festivals is the fact that the majority of our events are free and our programme features Irish published authors. It is a fun and informal festival and we hope people drop by over the course of the four days.” Julianne Mooney, Programme Director.
Dublin Book Festival has a range of inspiring conversations bringing readers and authors together.
