The countdown is on to Dublin city centre’s biggest free outdoor night time entertainment event of the year – the Dublin by Night Fest.
And the final line-up has been revealed for what promises to be two thrilling evening celebrations on Friday on Saturday next.
Events will take place on Friday, November 1 on Drury Street, South William Street and the new venue of Central Plaza, Dame Street.
On Saturday, November 2, Capel Street and Lower Mary Street are the heart of the action.
After the success of last year’s inaugural event, the second annual Dublin by Night Fest will bigger and better.
And it will again featuring some of the city’s top up and coming musical talent.
Dublin will come ‘Alive After Five’ with appearances from lauded acts including acclaimed chart topping singer songwriter Soulé, 80s inspired electronic pop artist Aonair and high energy punk band The Love Buzz.
There will also be much anticipated performances from hailed singer songwriters Gavin Fox, Leila Jane, Kylabelle and Sam Clifford.
The festival will also feature street art, animation and culture, drag performers, a brass band, as well as a samba band and dancers and a trad band with Irish dancers.
Cookery demonstrations and market stalls from local city centre business will accompany an extensive food and beverage offering from some of the city’s top eateries and coffee houses.
“This is a chance for every cohort to view the best of Dublin at night,” said Clyde Carroll of event promoters Dublin Town, the businesses collective for Dublin City centre.
“Dublin by Night Fest is unique as a true feast for the senses in the city centre, emphasising how much the capital has to offer in the evening.
“And it seeks to celebrate all things Dublin by capturing the essence of what makes the city centre an inviting place to be.
“It is an opportunity to engage with the city in a positive, friendly and welcoming atmosphere after dark.”
Organisers have pointed out that public transport in the capital operates ‘later than you think’ through night time
Luas, Dart and trains. Dublin bus offers 24-hour services across 10 routes, as well as Nightlink services
Dublin by Night Fest 2024 marks the city retaining the prestigious Purple Flag – presented to cities with consistently vibrant, welcoming nightlife.
Dublin City centre has consistently held Purple Flag status since 2013. It is awarded for two years.
Dublin by Night Fest is jointly organised by Dublin Town, Dublin City Council, Fáilte Ireland under the Winter in Dublin programme, and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, with the support of An Garda Síochána..
