Change of Space down in Dame Lane
- Tue, 21 Jun 2016
It’s often been commented upon that there are some tragically underutilised spots around our fair city. One that is often mentioned is the small pocket of land at the corner of Dame Lane and South Great George’s Street. While it’s previous been home to some great initiatives, like the Bloom Fringe pop-up parks, it usually is just a little bit of an under-used space.
Recently though the Dame Lane and Georges Street got done up when 8 colourful seats by Omos were installed to compliment the Car Port Cycle Parking by Cyclehoop which were installed earlier in the month. due to the feedback to Dublin City Council who are very aware of the bike parking needs in the area. With this in mind the space has been reorganised cater for cyclists and pedestrians alike. There is now additional space for moving, seating for respite and a pop of colour in the city and it’s great to see it being brought to life.
Omos are an Irish company based in Naas and the seating has been designed and made in Ireland.
