The annual Retail Excellence Awards took place on Saturday 10th November, honouring retailers across the nation – and two DublinTown members came out on top!
The awards ceremony, that prides itself on empowering the retail industry, showcases the belief that retailers are among the most passionate, dedicated and capable people on the planet. Their objective is to provide the best service and support to their members, which enables them to be the very best in retail.
This year, Carrolls Irish Gifts were honoured with the coveted ‘Exporter of the Year 2019’ accolade! The retail chain has 18 stores in DublinTown, that stocks leading Irish brands and a wide range of souvenirs. 100% Irish-owned, the company was established in 1982, and currently carry over 12,000 Irish themed products across their extensive ranges of Guinness Official licensed clothing & gifts, jewellery, fashionable leisure clothing, Aran knitwear, music and more.
Another DublinTown member, Specsavers Opticians Dawson Street were awarded ‘National Optician of the Year 2019’ at the awards. Having relocated from Grafton Street to Dawson Street only this summer, this recognition of excellence is a wonderful boost for the store. Press Up Entertainment Group, whose venues include Captain America’s, Peruke & Periwig and Mary’s Bar, also won on the night with their Dollard & Co. on Wellington Quay being awarded ‘National Specialist Food & Wine Store of the Year 2019’.
