Capel Street: A Whole Street of Dublin Hidden Gems
- Thu, 21 Aug 2014
It’s been great to see Capel Street getting the love lately. For the people that know the street well its charms have always been evident; whether it be a full Irish in the Boar’s head or a finely tailored suit from Louis Copeland or even that suite of furniture that has been given a new lease of life from A.J Furniture. Why are people talking about Capel Street now? Well it’s because of its unique blend of vibrant new cafes, bars and restaurants. Businesses like Brother Hubbards, Rua and Musashi have brought exciting and eclectic new personalities to the street. Not to mention our exemplar of glamour, Panti Bar with its famous host Miss Panti. This Mish Mash of the new and the established is what’s making Capel Street the latest great place to be in DublinTown. We’ve always know the street for its character and characters. With Capel Street you never know what you’re going to get. It straddles that part of the city between the shoppers’ paradise of Henry Street and the spit and saw dust authenticity of the Dublin fruit markets. Back in April we put our main man with the cam, Manus, out on the Street to shoot this video to show you why we love it so much. So here it is, Capel Street, DublinTown…

At the same time our DublinTown photographer Eric, with his creative eye caught the best of the street from behind the lens. Here’s just a selection of his wonderful shots…
