The Capel Street Series #4 – Goodwins Music
- Thu, 25 Sep 2014
In this week’s installment of The Capel Street Series we are looking at Goodwins Music at 134 Capel Street.
Right in the centre of Capel Street, family-run music shop Goodwins has been selling musical instruments for over 50 years. They offer a personal and friendly service, using their expertise to help each customer find the instrument that’s right for them. Don’t forget to check out our Capel Street video!
Liam has been the main man at the counter for the past 30 years, and wouldn’t change too much about Capel Street, except maybe have more businesses striving there. He says the character of Capel Street is something you can’t put a price on, and it’s the steady, traditional shops dotting the street that people come back for. “Louis Copeland is world famous, he’s just across the way there”. Goodwins is floor-to-ceiling music; stocking guitars, amps, FX pedals, keyboards, and every accessory you could need, including top brands, with prices to suit every pocket. You can come in and try the instruments for yourself or any of the staff will give you a demo. It’s a good chilled out place to spend a lunch hour, and if all that music makes you hungry, you could just head a stone’s throw to Ann’s Bakery on Mary Street!
