- Wed, 10 Jan 2024
Pancakes aren’t just for Pancake Tuesday… with thanks to these deadly Dublintown eateries, you can devour a plate of pancakes any day of the year!
We are all guilty of going a little crepe crazy when Pancake Tuesday appears on the calendar, but there’s no reason not to enjoy this tasty treat all year round. Here are some of our favourite places to get our pancake fix in Dublin city centre.
Gino’s Gelato
Grafton Street, Georges Street & Henry Street
With locations popping up all over the city, Gino’s is fast becoming one of the most popular sources of crepes in Dublin. Stop into one of their busy city centre shops for a spot of people watching while you enjoy a delicious crepe alongside a scoop of Gino’s signature gelato.
Lemon
South William Street
Lemon has been providing the public with pancakes since 1999. Offering a wide selection of both savoury and sweet crepes, there’s something here to satisfy all palates. Why not go for the good ol’ traditional lemon, sugar and butter combo. It’s a classic for good reason!
Taste Café
South William Street
Pancakes are nothing without some dressing. Taste Café, located on South William Street, knows this and offers a condiment box with each of its servings of pancakes. The box contains maple syrup, Nutella, salted caramel and lemon curd. For an extra euro you can throw in some bacon and really get the pancake party started.
Póg
Bachelor’s Walk
Póg offers everything from frozen yogurt to salads. It also does a stellar pancake, but not just any pancake, a protein pancake. Get all the joy of indulging in pancakes, but with less of the carb guzzling guilt that comes with regular pancake consumption.
Brother Hubbard
Capel Street
If you’re looking for a pancake experience that is a little different from the norm, why not visit Brother Hubbard – North. Their fluffy Moroccan-style “beghrir” pancakes are served with fragrantly-spiced poached pear, white chocolate & chestnut cream, warm date caramel sauce and topped with their sweet nut dukkah. What an exciting alternative to lemon and sugar!
Metro Café
South William Street
Metro Café offers both savoury and sweet options. If you want to really set yourself up for the day might I suggest the savoury option, also known as ‘The Metro Special’ It offers fluffy pancakes with scrambled eggs and crispy bacon served with maple syrup and relish. It’s fluffy, crispy, eggy heaven on a plate!
Balfes
Balfe Street
Balfes, located in The Westbury Hotel, is an all-day dining brasserie and uptown bar located on Balfe Street, where Grafton Street and the Creative Quarter meet. Covering all bases, Balfes have their own signature gluten free, oat pancakes for healthy eaters, as well as their protein pancakes for any gym bunnies, alongside more traditional fare.
We hope you stuff your face this Pancake Tuesday, and any other Tuesday you wish to treat yourself to some Pancakes!
