It’s Pancake Tuesday and you’ve got the craving, so where can you get your pancake or crepe fix in Dublin City Centre?
We are all guilty of going a little crepe crazy when Pancake Tuesday appears on the calendar, and what’s great about these places is that you can enjoy this tasty treat all year round. Here’s some of our favourite places to get our pancake fix in Dublin Town.
With locations popping up all over the city, Gino’s is fast becoming one of the most popular sources of crepes in Dublin. Stop into one of their busy city centre bases for a spot of people watching while you enjoy a delicious crepe alongside a scoop of Gino’s signature gelato.
Located on South William Street, Lemon has been providing the public with pancakes since 1999. Offering a wide selection of both savoury and sweet crepes, there’s something here to satisfy all palates. Why not go for the good ol’ traditional lemon, sugar and butter combo. It’s a classic for good reason!
Pancakes are nothing without some dressing. Taste Café, located on South William Street, knows this and it offers a condiment box with each of its servings of pancakes. The box contains maple syrup, Nutella, salted caramel and lemon curd. For an extra euro you can throw in some bacon and really get the pancake party started.
The Metro Café located on South William Street offers both savoury and sweet options. If you want to really set yourself up for the day might I suggest the savoury option, also known as ‘The Metro Special?’ It offers fluffy pancakes with scrambled eggs and crispy bacon served with maple syrup and relish. It’s fluffy, crispy, eggy heaven on a plate!
Balfes is all-day dining brasserie and uptown bar located on Balfe Street, where Grafton Street and the Creative Quarter meet. Covering all bases, Balfes’ have their own signature gluten free, oat pancakes for healthy eaters, as well as their protein pancakes for any gym bunnies, alongside more traditional fare.
