5 EXCITING LATE NIGHT EVENTS ON CULTURE NIGHT DUBLIN

Culture Night Dublin will see a number of venues opening later into the evening, as well as a number of exciting flagship events across the city and county. This late night initiative is generously supported by the National Culture Night team through the Department for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media in response to the Report of the Late Night Economy Taskforce.
1) Black Canvas – Natives
Time: 11.30pm – 3.00am
Location: The Sugar Club, Leeson Street Lower, Saint Kevin’s, Dublin, Ireland
Black Canvas presents a showcase of the rich and new waves of Irish subculture in The Sugar Club. Bringing together new voices in the creative scene for a vibrant cross art form presentation of Irish hiphop culture across Music, Dance, Fashion.
2) Meeting House Square
Time: 5.30pm – 12.00am
Location: Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin 2
Kicking off with a family-friendly programme of events, No Strings Theatre Company present a hand-crafted puppet show and Samul Nori Drummers perform using traditional Korean musical instruments at Meeting House Square. Clap and sing along to the wonderful Walkeleles from Walkinstown, then gear up for the high-octane rhythms of Po?lca 4 who bring their own spin to the jigs and reels of West Kerry, presented by An tOireachtas. Emerging songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, costume designer and commissioned artist for Awaken the Metropolis, Tadhg brings vibrant energy to the stage with a captivating and vivid performance. The night wraps up with a live set from Dublin Modular, an artist-run platform and alternative club collective playing a mix of electronic music until midnight.
3)Fruit & Veg Market
Time: 4.30pm – 11.00pm
Location: St. Michan’s Street, Dublin 7
Night Moves is a celebration of Dublin’s current cross-generational club culture while looking forward to the future of clubbing in the city. Set in the historic Fruit and Veg Market, Night Moves presents possibilities for the late-night economy rooted in the past and present, showcasing diverse live DJ performances from the Irish electronic community, while providing time and space for the development of ideas, through early night panel discussions on strengthening the inclusion and safety of Dublin’s nightlife of the future.
4) Irish Writers Centre
Time: 9.00pm – 12.00am
Location: 19 Parnell Square North
On Culture Night, the Irish Writers Centre will open their doors for another edition of their very popular Bilingual Takin’ the Mic / Live readings with MC, Sasha de Buyl, special guest, Colm MacGearailt + music from The Snug Set. This event will run until midnight alongside live readings with music from The Snug Set, featuring Ken Lynam (Uilleann pipes), Caitriona Ni Mhurchu (Flute & Concertina), Dani Fox (Fiddle), Brendan Devereux (Guitar).
5) MIND the STEP
Time: 4.00pm – 12.00am
Location: 24 Strand Street Great
MIND the STEP will be hosting free one-hour dance classes from teachers and schools that rent the two studios regularly. Bring comfortable clothing and shoes and come get involved.
