A fusion of old and new since a refurbishment in the 1990’s, the hotel has been designed with style and comfort in mind. The Davenport is located in the heart of Georgian Dublin, the 4-star Davenport is in a quiet corner of the city and boasts a landmark facade dating back to 1863. The building, where the Davenport is located, was formerly Merrion Hall, a prayer hall which was designed to be able to accommodate up to 2000 worshippers. Unfortunately, a fire in 1990 destroyed the interior but luckily the impressive and historically important facade survived and is listed and retained as an impressive lobby for the luxurious and modern O’Callaghan Davenport Hotel in Dublin.
